It's finally time! Dirty Dancing has opened in Stoke-on-Trent's very own Regent Theatre. The fastest selling West End show in history sold out it's first night!
The infamous story about a holiday romance opened Tuesday night as the latest leg of it's extensive UK tour.
We spoke to cast members Jill Winternitz and Nicky Griffiths who play Baby Houseman and Penny Johnson, and our first question was about the iconic lift.
Jill states "I've been lucky, I enjoy it and hasve had no scary moments so far" before knocking on the wooden table next to her. Jill claims this is down to one of her yoga poses being rather similar.
Nicky recalls the day that Jill and Paul-Michael Jones (who plays Johnny) first tired the move. "I remember, very quietly at the back of the room they did the lift for the first time, they went up and the whole case turned around and cheered."
We then grilled them about the tour, the opening night in Stoke and what they want to see while they're here.
