On the evening of 13th July 2012, we caught up with medium Derek Acorah prior to his performance at Stoke's Victoria Hall as part of the True Vision tour.
Derek is perhaps best known for being part of the original Most Haunted team, remaining with the programme for over 5 series, where he investigated numerous haunted locations in Britain and around the world.
What a lot of people may not know is that before he rose to fame as the country's most popular psychic, he was in fact a footballer, playing for Liverpool, Glentoran, Stockport, Wrexham and USC Lion.
In the first part of our interview, Derek discusses his early development as a medium, how he shared his gift with Emlyn Hughes while at the Anfield club, and what happened as a result.
We also find out what his most memorable game as a player was, how he became aware of his gift of mediumship, and what the reaction of Liverpool legends Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley was when he told them of his gift.
