A TRACTOR and baling machine were severely damaged in a fire which also spread to a field of stubble in Wheaton Aston yesterday afternoon, July 16.

Fire crews from Penkridge and Brewood fought the blaze, which broke out in a field off Ivestsy Road, Wheaton Aston at 3pm yesterday.

A fire service spokeswoman said it appeared the tractor caught fire, and the blaze then spread to the baler it was towing, and a 50 square metre area of stubble in the field.

Firefighters used one hose reel jet to tackle the blaze, then scanned the scene with a thermal imaging camera to check for any remaining hot-spots.
