Witness appeal after pedestrian injured in Cannock collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian in Cannock.

The accident happened at around 1.50pm yesterday near Asda in Avon Road. A silver Vauxhall Meriva was in collision with a 21-year-old woman who suffered head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for treatment.

She remains in hospital in a stable condition and her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road remained closed until around 5.45pm while specially trained officers carried out an examination at the scene.

Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 394 of March 10.
