TWO people had to be cut free from their cars and were hospitalised after a two-car smash on the A449 in Penkridge.
Emergency services rushed to the smash after reports of the crash on the Wolverhampton Road came in shortly after 12:20pm.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “We were called at 12:25 to a road traffic collision involving two cars.
“One female casualty was extricated from her vehicle and taken to Stafford Hospital by land ambulance.”
She said firefighters were still in the process of cutting a second casualty free from their car.

A later update from West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed the second patient had also been taken to Stafford Hospital after being cut free from their car.
