Shugborough Hall’s half-pint hogs have kicked off their World Cup predictions with a win for England.
The pint-sized porkers wearing England’s colours romped across the finishing line ahead of their Italian rivals at the Bank Holiday animal races.
According to Shugborough’s rare breed Middle White piglets England are going to win their first match of the World Cup tournament in Brazil on June 14.
The soccer-mad piglets were followed by sheep, ducks, goats and even guinea pigs, all lining up for racing glory.
Economy leader County Councillor Mark Winnington said: “We weren’t sure whether these new signings were going to live up to expectations on the big day but when it came to it they didn’t let us down.
“To the delight of the crowds, they performed brilliantly in the race and made their prediction on England’s first big match against Italy.
“Shugborough’s Park Farm has recently achieved Rare Breed Status and these cheeky little piglets are part of our collection of over 150 rare breed animals, all of which are actually rarer than the giant panda.
“Let’s hope our patriotic piglets have got it right for June 14.”
