TWO STAFFORD youngsters will be battling it out for the title of Staffordshire Young Singer of the Year on Sunday.

Aaron Brown, a student at Blessed William Howard High School, will take a break from studying for his GCSEs to perform in the grand final at Staffordshire Performing Arts, in Eastgate Street, Stafford.

The 16-year-old plays piano and guitar and is also involved in performing arts.

Alexandra Smith, a pupil at Walton High School, Stafford, is studying for A levels and is a member of Musical Youth Theatre Stafford.

The 17-year-old says she is passionate about singing and was previously a member of the school choir, touring Paris and Venice. She is currently lead vocalist for the school jazz orchestra.

The final starts at 2pm.
