TWO champion chefs have reunited for the launch of a new restaurant in Stone.
Richard Cullen, winner of this year’s Taste of Staffordshire Masterchef title, opened his first eaterie in Radford Street on Friday with wife Kara.
They got off to a flying start with their first two nights fully booked, and demand in the coming weeks to book the entire restaurant for functions.
The couple have also recruited Jack Harries, who took this year’s Taste of Staffordshire Young Chef of Tomorrow title, and Steve Young for their team.
They will be serving a fresh and seasonal menu including a la carte, Sunday lunch and festive options.
On Thursday they invited guests, including the family and friends, who have helped them decorate and prepare the restaurant for opening, to a preview evening.
Richard, Jack and Steve prepared a feast of canapes that offered a contemporary twist on beloved British and international fare, including Scotch eggs made with black pudding, sliced sausages topped with mash and vol-au-vents filled with chicken and ham.
Richard was formerly head chef at the Spot Gate, near Hilderstone.
