FOUR men have been arrested following a police chase through Stone.
The pursuit happened after a car failed to stop for officers on the A34 yesterday afternoon. And the arrested men are believed to be connected to a suspicious incident reported three hours earlier in Whitemill Lane.
Staffordshire Police said officers attempted to stop an orange Nissan Almera on the A34 at around 2.10pm, during a routine patrol.
A post on the force’s Facebook page said: “A short pursuit of the vehicle followed which resulted in the vehicle being abandoned near the golf course next to the Wayfayer pub and the driver ran off.
“A member of the public detained the driver, a 17-year-old male from Birmingham, who was then arrested when officers arrived.
“The arrests follow a suspicious incident in Whitemill Lane reported at around 11am when two men were seen acting suspiciously near a parked vehicle. It is believed that this incident is connected to the arrested men.”
