'WE are going nowhere and will not be closed' said a Stafford pub manager following news the venue's managing organisation had called in the administrators.
Following news that The Bramwell Pub Company - parent company of The Yard Stafford - had gone into administration, general manager Dave Allen said he was 'confident and excited' about the pub's future.
"On Thursday we were informed that The Bramwell Pub Company had gone into administration which unfortunately resulted in a number of pubs closing with immediate effect. Not the Yard," he said.
"We are now under the management of LT Pub Management which is part of the Zolfo Cooper Group.
"They will manage the transition of the Sale of the Yard and the rest of our estate."
Mr Allen said nobody had seen the news coming but that it was the result of an investment buyout and sale.
"Having spoken with a director of the LT Pub management company, I am very confident and excited about The Yard's future," said Mr Allen. "The front running company who want to purchase our estate is a market leader and invest heavily in their property, so a new look and fresh Yard may be just months away."
Mr Allen said The Yard's performance to date had been 'superb', ending the financial year in October ranked 16th across the whole company with only much larger sites and sites in London out-performing them.
He said The Yard's sales exceeded £1million, bettering its previous year, with profits also exceeding the previous year and budget.
"Our footfall of customer and standing in Staffords nightlife in phenomenal with our biggest complaint being we are to busy. An unfortunate but nice complaint to receive," he said. "Over the past three years we've won highest increased sales, Best Bar None category winner, runner up in the Best Bar in Stafford and Investment of the Year under our previous owners."
"For anyone who has booked parties with us do not worry," said Mr Allen. "We are going nowhere and will not be closed.
"We are still taking bookings and I am looking forward to another record breaking Christmas at The Yard."
