FLYING winger Matt Clayton kick-started his season with a four-goal haul as Berkswich Athletic U15s recorded a convincing 9-0 victory away to Shire Oak Saints in the Lichfield Recreation League Division Four.
Strike partner Declan McMahon also grabbed a hat trick, and the goal fest was completed by Jan Burger and Sam Wheaton.
Defender Luke Jones was handed a start as striker and rewarded his manager’s faith by scoring a hat-trick as Stafford Town Pythons U11s overcame Hopton Rovers 6-3 in the Mid Staffs Premier League.
Hopton took an early lead before Jones equalised and Jack Davis scored minutes later.Pythons netted another three before half-time, through Jones, who completed his hat-trick, and Sam Hackett.
A minute after the break Pythons made it 6-1 through Thomas Concar, before Hopton scored two consolation efforts. In the County Girls’ League
Stafford Town Tigeresses U11s
lost out 5-2 to Stoke Town. The Tigeresses started in a very positive manner but Stoke then struck on the counter attack twice in a matter of minutes.
The Stafford girls were again hit twice on the break, going in at half-time 4-0 down.
Stoke scored again soon after the break, but the Tigeresses kept plugging away and were rewarded with two strikes from player of the match Becky Fitzjohn.
Stafford Town Pumas U10s
dispatched Stafford Rovers 4- 0, thanks to a hat-trick by Christian Cooper-Rose and a single from man-of-the-match Jack Thompson, who netted in the first five minutes.
Stafford Town Panthers U10s came from behind to defeat Lakeside 3-2, with goals from Nathan Robinson, Alfie Bromley and Ben Gee. Man- of-the-match was Edan Dollochin.
