FORECASTERS are wary of looking too far ahead but temperatures are expected to remain above average for the first half of August.

There are signs of less settled weather beginning to creep in across the country.  So while there will still be a lot of dry weather there will be an increasing risk of showers or some longer spells of rain as we head into the middle part of August - particularly over northern and western areas.

As usual, the driest, brightest weather will be across southern and eastern areas but even here some showers will develop.
