Did you vote in the European Elections?

Comments (2)

The European Elections took place yesterday on Thursday 22nd May, the same day as local elections.

The European Parliament is the only directly elected institution in the European Union and the UK’s "closed list" system means that you vote for a party and each party choses their own candidate list.

The UK will elect 73 Members of the European Parliament after the UK were given an extra MEP in December 2011 which was allocated to the West Midlands.

The results are expected to be announced on Sunday 25h May after all results have been counted throughout the 28 member states of the European Union.

Silly of course. It's a pie-chart showing hoe people voted. One of the options is 'didn't vote'.So....we're getting percentages of votes cast for each party PLUS the votes not cast by those who didn't vote.Duh?
