The two-day show, which continues tomorrow, attracted thousands of visitors, many arriving armed for downpours with umbrellas and wellies. But any fears of a washout proved unfounded by the afternoon, when conditions began to dry up. Show-goers have plenty to see and do at the County Showground, near Stafford, from viewing prize-winning livestock to browsing dozens of trade stalls. Foodies can garner delicious inspiration in the food hall while Staffordshire's WI members have put on an impressive display of their many skills, from flower arranging to baking. Main ring attractions include a thrilling Wild West-style rodeo show by the Devil's Horsemen and fast-paced inter-county pony races staged by the Mounted Games Association of Great Britain.
