Stafford hairdresser Amy Kerry helped out backstage at Birmingham International Fashion Week and talks us through her favourite look from the Koyawo London show and how to recreate it.

Amy, from Francesco Group’s Old Printworks Academy in Stafford, joined the Francesco Group team to style the hair for a total of 10 catwalk shows creating a unique style to complement each outfit.

“We created a total of five looks to compliment the beautiful and elegant dresses created by the designers. The inspiration behind these looks was simple yet effective with the models sporting sleek locks. We used Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray to give the ultimate finish”, says Amy.

“My favorite look from the Koyawo London show was the sleek side bun. It’s such a simple yet versatile look, which works for everyone. It’s a look that can be glamorous and sophisticated for the evening but relaxed and casual during the daytime.”

“The look is easy to recreate at home. I’d start by gathering the hair into a ponytail - if you want your bun to sit at the side gather the hair into a side ponytail, if you want to opt for a trendy topknot then gather the hair into a ponytail that sits on the top of the head.

“Once your hair is in a ponytail gently backcomb at the base of the ponytail to create volume. You can then choose to use a bun ring and wrap the hair around the bun ring and then pin it in place or you can roll the hair back on itself to create the shape of a bun.

“Make sure you have plenty of bobby pins to secure your bun and finish by misting the hair with Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray to give the glamorous finish and leave you with dazzling shine.”
