DETECTIVES are asking for Stafford people to help them as they search for two men they want to trace in connection with a robbery in which a woman was assaulted in Wolverhampton.

Donavon Wilson, aged 19 and from Sedgley, and Omari Maitland, aged 20 and from Wolverhampton, are wanted for questioning after a 38-year-old woman was robbed of her car on Robert Wynd, Woodcross on June 18.

A small hatchback ran into the back of her car at around 2.40pm. The woman got out to exchange details but was pushed to the floor by one of the men from the other car, who then jumped into her vehicle and drove off down Robert Wynd towards Woodcross park.

Maitland is black and 6ft 5ins tall and Wilson is also black, 6ft tall and has distinctive scarring on his left cheek. Wilson has close family links to the Stafford area and officers are working with the neighbouring force.

Detectives have carried out extensive enquiries over the last two months in a bid to trace these two individuals and information has been received that Wilson was seen in the Sandwell area last weekend.

Superintendent Keith Fraser, from Wolverhampton Police, said: "We urgently seek the help of the public in tracing these two who we believe are linked to a number of offences across the West Midlands region.

"We have had had several pieces of information particularly through social media and we would encourage anyone who knows their whereabouts or has any information that could help our enquiries to call us as soon as possible."

Anyone with information as to their whereabouts should contact Wolverhampton Police on 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
