NEW Stafford Rangers boss Graham Heathcote has made first signing, ahead of the long league trip to Blyth Spartans on Saturday.

Heathcote has brought in 24-year-old Alex Melbourne on a month's loan from Staffordshire neighbours Hednesford Town.

Melbourne, who was a product of Wolves Academy, has had spells at Tamworth and Rushall Olympic and operates right-sided midfield or right back. Melbourne will be included in the squad for Blyth at the weekend.

On the departure front, Heathcote has released both Phil Mooney and Jack West, who were two recent signings by former boss Andy Mutch.
