SWIMMERS can get back in the water after Stone's pool reopened for business.
The 25m swimming pool at Alleyne's Sports Centre has been out of action since the end of October after a broken circulation pipe forced it to close.
But on Monday swimmers of all ages, including Alleyne's Academy students Abe Smith, 13, Griff Jones, 13 and Oliver Rose, 14, pictured with head of PE Steve Powell, were delighted to take the plunge once more.
The repair bill was more than £55,000, of which £12,000 to cover electrics damaged by water was covered by insurance.
Stafford Borough Council stumped up £26,000 and the remainder was paid by the academy, which runs the pool in conjunction with the council.
A message on the council website said: "We would like to thank all our customers for their patience throughout the closure."
