A PENSIONER stabbed in the hand during an armed raid has welcomed a jail sentence handed to the robber.
Pat Stonier was working in the Wine Cellar in Stone, when escaped convict Nicholas Overton robbed the store last month.
Overton was yesterday jailed for six years at Chester Crown Court for nine knife-point robberies in North Staffordshire and Cheshire.

Mrs Stonier, aged 66, of Bradeley, needed four stitches in a knife wound on her hand after she was slashed while trying to stop Overton snatching the contents of the till.
